Laura Pearson joined the UNCW athletic staff in April of 2021 as Compliance Coordinator and became UNCW's first Assistant Athletic Director for Administration on July 1, 2023.
Pearson came to the North Carolina coast after spending two years as a compliance assistant at Elon. She worked in ARMS Software monitoring CARA and recruiting logs for all coaches, created rules education for the department and tracked eligibility for incoming and transfer student-athletes.
A native of Harrisonburg, Va., Pearson attended Turner-Ashby High School, where she competed in track and field for four years.
Pearson attended Shenandoah University in Winchester, Va., and served as a Student Recruiting Assistant for the football team for three years. She also worked as a tour guide with the school’s admissions office and was involved in residence life as a Resident Assistant and Head Resident Assistant.
Pearson enjoys spending time with her friends and running. She is an active member of Women Leaders in College Sports (WLCS) and the National Association of Athletics Compliance (NAAC).
