Adam Fearing was named Director of Development for Athletics and Executive Director of the Seahawk Club on April 10, 2018.
Fearing began his career in college athletics as a sales and ticketing specialist at the University of Cincinnati before joining UNCW’s Seahawk Club staff as an assistant director in January of 2014. He was promoted to associate director in May of 2017 and moved into the lead role with the departure of Derek Denton.
In four years at UNCW, Fearing has helped the Seahawks grow membership in the Seahawk Club from 960 to 2,600 members and spearheaded the Student Seahawk Club, athletic staff campaign, student-athlete giving initiative and increased student-athlete alumni giving.
In his new role, Fearing will focus on growing membership, managing fundraising activities and overseeing day-to-day operations. He will work with UNCW's athletic and advancement staffs on donor recognition and stewardship programs.
During his time as associate director, Fearing was responsible for reaching out to former Seahawk student-athletes and community members to increase the Seahawk Club’s membership and annual support for scholarships.
Fearing made UC’s football team as a walk-on and was awarded an athletic scholarship for the 2012 season. He earned the Glenn Sample Community Service Award for his work in the greater Cincinnati community.
In addition, Fearing was a letterman for UC’s Big East championship teams in 2011 and 2012 and was a 2012 Big East All-Academic selection.
Fearing spent the 2012-13 year as an academic coach and sales coordinator with the Bearcats. He executed ticket sales for all of UC’s teams and processed giving to the UCATS scholarship fund.
Fearing earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration at UC in 2012 and completed his Master’s of Education Degree in Sport Administration at Xavier in 2013.
