UNCW Falls In Extra Innings, 4-3

ELON, N.C. – UNCW forced extra innings with two runs in the eighth inning, but Hofstra's Michael Florides' two-out single in the 10th inning lifted Hofstra to a 4-3 win over the Seahawks on Thursday at the UNCG Baseball Stadium. The win advanced the Pride to the winner's bracket final on Friday.

The Seahawks fell to 31-23 with the loss while the Pride upped its record to 28-21.

For Florides, it was his third hit of the afternoon, which also included a double in the sixth inning. Adding three hits for Hofstra was Will Kennedy.

Reliever Michael O'Hanlon earned the win to improve to 3-2.

Chris Thorburn had three hits for the Seahawks and drove in two runs while Jac Croom and Matt Suggs had two hits apiece.

Hunter Hodges (3-2) suffered the loss in relief.

How it happened: Jake Liberatore opened the 10th inning with a walk and moved into scoring position on a sacrifice bunt by Santino Rosso. Another ground ball moved him to third and Florides singled off a 1-1 offering through the left side to break the deadlock.
