Cover Named CAA Men's Golfer-of-the-Week

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW junior Patrick Cover was named Colonial Athletic Association Golfer-of-the-Week after winning medalist honors at the Clemson Invitational and setting tournament and course records on his way to the win.

For Cover, it was his second career win and the first of his junior season. The junior opened the final round tied for 16th, but played the final 11 holes at six-under to rally for the win. His 65 on the final 18 were a course record and his 54-hole score of 211 set a tournament standard.

Cover also moved back to the UNCW all-time scoring average at 72.79 and is on the verge of cracking UNCW's all-time top-10 finishes with nine. Teammate Thomas Eldridge is in a tie for 10th with 10.

UNCW will compete in the NC State Spring Open in its final test this weekend before the CAA Championships later this month.
