Diving Preview: Clemson / East Carolina

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW diving returns to the boards this weekend when they host Clemson on Friday and then head to East Carolina on Saturday. Friday's meet is a women's meet and starts at 5 p.m.

The Seahawks are coming off a successful opening weekend where they won three of the four diving events in a dual meet sweep at Old Dominion. Heading up the impressive weekend was sophomore newcomer Adyson Lowe, who won both boards in the women's meet. Lowe, who transferred from Tennessee, totaled 248.80 points in the 1-meter and later posted 267.90 points in the 3-meter. Teammates Samantha Marks and Liz Kearns, both finished second and third, respectively, in both boards.

Sophomore Andrew Breedlove was named Colonial Athletic Association Men's Diver-of-the-Week after placing second in the 3-meter and third in the 1-meter. His combined point total of 495.85 was the highest on the men's side. Senior Nathan Lane won the 1-meter, edging his second-place competitor, 261.6-260.7.

For Clemson, Friday will be its season opener. The Tigers, who only sponsor women's diving, return 10 divers from a year ago.

Both UNCW's diving teams compete on Saturday at East Carolina, along with Clemson and host Pirates.
