BATON ROUGE, Louisiana - Colonial Athletic Association champion UNCW opens its Baton Rouge Regional appearance on Friday when it takes on Tulane at Alex Box Stadium in an 8 p.m. EST start.

The Seahawks, who are making their seventh appearance in the NCAA tournament, are returning to the city where they made their NCAA debut back in 2003 when they advanced to the regional championship before falling to host LSU in extra innings.

For the Green Wave, they will be making their first appearance in the tournament since the 2008 season after earning an at-large berth following a strong season in the first year of the American Athletic Conference.

Tulane (34-23) topped the Seahawks, 8-4, in late March in a non-conference game at Brooks Field. UNCW rattled off a season-high 10-game winning streak following the game on its way to a 39-16 record.

UNCW will face TU starter Patrick Duester for a second time this season after the junior righthander allowed three runs over 5.1 innings while picking up his fourth win of the season.

Junior righthander Ryan Foster (6-1) will make the start for the Seahawks and is looking to rebound from a tough outing in the CAA tournament, when he lasted 3.1 innings in the opening round win over Northeastern. He did not figure in the decision.

The 2015 Baton Rouge Regional includes three of the four teams from the 2003 version with Patriot League champion Lehigh replacing Northeastern, who then was a member of the America East Conference, who has since joined the CAA.

The game can be followed on the Seahawk Digital Network as Mike Vaccaro and Jackson Fuller call the action from Alex Box Stadium. The pregame show begins at 7:45 p.m. EST. ESPN will also broadcast the game at WatchESPN.com and on the watchespn app.

Buffalo Wild Wings, on Old Eastwood Road, will be hosting a watch party for Seahawk fans.
