WILMINGTON, North Carolina - As the start of the 2015 UNCW softball season draws near, UNCWSports.com wants fans to get a chance to know the players before the season opener on Feb. 13 with a new feature called "Around the Bases."
In our latest edition, we spend a few minutes with freshman outfielder
Chloe Reid. Reid, a native of Fayetteville, N.C., was a four-year letter winner at Pine Forest High School.
UNCWSports.com: Why did you choose to attend UNCW?
CR: I chose to attend UNCW because I was really interested in the business school and it was close to home as well as the beach.

UNCWSports.com: Describe a moment when you felt the most Seahawk pride.
CR: I felt the most Seahawk pride when our soccer team beat UNC and broke the attendance record.

UNCWSports.com: Take us through your pre-game mental preparation routine.
CR: Before a game, I like to imagine myself making the right play or getting a hit because if you see yourself being successful, then it gives you more confidence during the game.

UNCWSports.com: Do you belong to any other clubs, groups or organizations?
CR: I am in the Honors College.

UNCWSports.com: What are some community activities you or your team have done?
CR: This year I have been volunteering with Debbie's Dream Foundation, an organization that works to raise stomach cancer awareness.

UNCWSports.com: What is your intended or declared major and why did you choose that major?
CR: My intended major is Business Administration with a concentration in accounting. I chose this because I really enjoy doing math and hope to be an accountant one day.

UNCWSports.com: Describe your dream job:
CR: My dream job is to be an accountant for a small business.

UNCWSports.com: If you could play another sport at UNCW, what would it be and why?
CR: If I could play another sport at UNCW, I would play tennis because it looks really fun and I've never played before.

UNCWSports.com: Favorite team tradition/activity and why?
CR: I really enjoy going to Waggoner Hall for breakfast with the team after early mornings because it is fun for us all to hang out and bond after we just finished a tough workout.

UNCWSports.com: Which teammate will have the most interesting job in 10 years and why?
CR: I will have the most interesting job because accounting is fascinating.

UNCWSports.com: What animal would best describe you and why?
CR: A Koala bear best describes me because I love to eat and sleep and that is all they do.

UNCWSports.com: What is your favorite quote or phrase?
CR: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. –Philippians 4:13

UNCWSports.com: What is your favorite type of food (i.e. Chinese, Mexican, Italian etc.)?
CR: Japanese

UNCWSports.com: Favorite place you have visited or traveled to and why?
CR: My favorite place I have visited is New York City because it was so different from the South and I loved shopping there.

UNCWSports.com: If you could sit down for lunch with anyone in the world, who would it be and why?
CR: I would like to have lunch with Ellen DeGeneres because I think she is really fun.

CR: Revenge

UNCWSports.com: How will you change the world (or even just one person's world)?
CR: I want to continue to work with Debbie's Dream Foundation to help patients with stomach cancer and raise money to fund research to find a cure.

CR: Most people don't know that I am completely obsessed with Harry Potter.

CR: My most commented Facebook post was a picture of my family and me.

UNCWSports.com: What is number one on your bucket list and why?
CR: Number one on my bucket list is to travel to Australia because I've always wanted to go.

CR: I am really good at cleaning and organizing.

CR: Lindsay Corcoran, one of my best friends. She's hilarious.

CR: My biggest pet peeve is when people are messy.

CR: Sharks

UNCWSports.com: What is an obstacle you had to overcome in your life?
CR: I tore my labrum when I was a sophomore and had to sit out for almost a year. Coming back to softball was a huge challenge.
