Located in the heart of the UNCW campus, Brooks Field has been the home of the Seahawks since 1962 and continues to be one of the top facilities in the state and the southeast. The Seahawks played their first seasons across town at Legion Stadium.

Named in honor of former head coach and director of athletics William J. Brooks, the facility has grown in recent years to include a sports turf practice field, a covered hitting area down the right field line and in 2018, the E. Marvin Johnson Indoor Training Facility opened to give the program some of the best training facilities in the nation.

The playing surface is grass and is surrounded by an eight-foot wall around the outfield measuring 340 feet down the lines, 365 to the alleys and 380 to center field.

Seating capacity for the venue is 3,500.

Brooks Field has been the host site for the Colonial Athletic Association championship tournament on 13 occasions and has also been the home field for a pair of minor league teams. The Port City Roosters played there in 1995 and 1996 as a Double A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners. In 2001, the Dodgers South Atlantic League affiliate, the Wilmington Waves, played their lone season at Brooks Field.
