Nagy posted his first top-10 finish of the season, and the third of his career, to help the Seahawks to a fifth-place finish at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate earlier this week in Raleigh. After carding a 74 in the first round, Nagy responded with a one-under-par-71 in the second round and completed his rally into the top-10 with a two-under-par-70 in the third round. That final round lifted him from 27th into a tie for eighth.
Team Notes: The Seahawks continued to have success against strong fields with this week’s top-5 finish at the Lonnie Poole Intercollegiate … UNCW is ranked 63rd nationally according to Golfstat.com and 55th by Golf Week … Freshman Trey Guy made the most of his collegiate debut, finishing 15th at the Lonnie Pool Intercollegiate … Guy entered the final round in a tie for eighth, but was unable to maintain his top-10 standing … The Seahawks recorded a season-best 51 birdies in the tournament … Nagy and Guy recorded eagles in the tournament.
Next Tournament: The Seahawks will compete in the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate (Oct. 11-13) in Johnson City, Tenn.

Record Book Watch: Payne McLeod moved into eighth on UNCW’s all-time list with 106 rounds played … Stefan Brewer also moved into the top-10 with at ninth with 105 rounds played.
