FAIRFAX, VirginiaMichael Bass rapped out four hits and Jack Lane tossed five innings of shutout baseball in relief as UNCW completed a sweep of Colonial Athletic Association rival George Mason with a 10-2 win on Sunday at Hap Spuhler Field.

The Seahawks improved to 12-2 in the league and 30-11 overall. The Patriots, who have now dropped their last six straight, dropped to 13-28 and 5-16.

Bass raised his season average to .431 with the four-hit day and scored three runs while knocking in two. He also swiped three bases to run his season total to 19. Tyler Molinaro and Ryan LaGrange both added two-hit efforts at the plate as UNCW out-hit GMU, 14-7.

Lane (1-0) picked up his first win of the season, allowing two hits and a walk over a season-long five-inning stint. His career-long outing is six innings in 2011 against the Patriots at Spuhler Field.

John Williams (2-4) was saddled with the loss for GMU after allowing seven runs, six earned, on nine hits and three walks in three innings.

No Patriot had a multiple-hit day.
