The Seahawks face a daunting stretch when they take on three NCAA tournament
programs in James Madison (Oct. 10), Old Dominion (Oct. 13) and Georgia
State (Oct. 17). All three matches will be played at the UNCW Soccer
Stadium.

Key Three-Game Homestand With Dukes
UNCW will open and important stretch towards its postseason hope on Wednesday
when it hosts James Madison in the first of a three-game homestand that includes
games against nationally-ranked Old Dominion and Georgia State. All three
teams played in the NCAA tournament last fall.

JMU tied nationally-ranked Old Dominion, 0-0, earlier in the week in Norfolk
… JMU is 1-3-1 in its last five with the win being a 4-0 pasting of
Towson … The Dukes are 1-1-1 against nationally-ranked opponents, including
a 1-0 home win over then second-ranked North Carolina … Paul Wyatt has
scored three of his team-leading five goals in the last three games …
He also leads the Dukes with 11 points … Colin Newcity has been solid
in goal, posting a GAA of 0.87 with 29 saves in 1030 minutes.

They Met ...
The 21st-ranked Dukes edged the visiting Seahawks, 1-0, in a match played
in Harrisonburg. Dale Robins-Bailey notched the games lone goal when JMU was
able to take advantage of a corner kick in the 73rd minute. [Story
/ Box Score] While JMU holds a 23-9-1 lead in the all-time series, the
Seahawks have had the better of the rivalry since 2003 with a 6-3 mark. UNCW

UNCW was picked in a tie for eighth with Hofstra in the 12-team circuit in
a vote of the league's coaches (story).
The CAA sent four teams to the NCAA tournament including conference champion
Delaware, who claimed the league title for the first time. Joining the Blue
Hens in the 48-team tournament were Old Dominion, James Madison and Georgia
State. ODU was picked by the league's coaches to win the conference title
and received nine of a possible 11 first-place votes. James Madison received
one vote and was second followed by defending champion Delaware. William &
Mary and Northeastern rounded out the top five.
Boulanger Honored
Senior midfielder Etienne Boulanger was honored by the league's coaches by
being named to the preason honorable mention All-CAA squad. Boulanger is UNCW's
top-returning career scorer with 29 points on 13 goals and three assists.
Last season, he totaled five points on a pair of goals and an assist.
