PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Second half goals by Ken Tribbett and Nathan Page backed a seven-save shutout by Tim Washam as Drexel topped visiting UNCW, 2-0, in a Colonial Athletic Association soccer game at Vidas Field on Saturday

The Seahawks saw their three-game winning streak halted and dipped to 5-6-1 overall and 2-2 in the CAA. The Dragons improved to 7-3-1 and 3-1.

"We had a chance to take the lead in the second half, but the shot just missed," said UNCW Head Coach Aidan Heaney. "After Drexel scored that first goal, we had to chase the game and just couldn't equalize. We played well overall and we'll need to continue to do so with some important home games coming up."

After both sides battled to a scoreless stalemate in the first half, Tribbett was able to put the Dragons on the scoreboard when he beat UNCW goalkeeper Brad Newman from 30 yards out in the 67th minute.

Page doubled the DU lead in the 78th minute when he converted a rebound following a shot from Michele Pataia.

The Dragons finished with a 19-15 advantage in shots.

Sophomore Jamie Dell led UNCW with three shots on goal and nearly gave the Seahawks a lead in the 60th minute, but his shot caromed off the post.

The Seahawks open a three-game homestand on Oct. 10 with a 7 p.m. kickoff against James Madison.
