The Seahawks face a daunting stretch when they take on three NCAA tournament
programs in James Madison (Oct. 10), Old Dominion (Oct. 13) and Georgia
State (Oct. 17). All three matches will be played at the UNCW Soccer
Stadium.

Seahawks.He's second to Calvin Lane (129) in most wins by a UNCW coach.

Brandon Miller (Rochester), Daniel Roberts (Wilmington), Christian Davidson
(Wilmington) and Josh Boone (Dayton). All played in the United Soccer

UNCW visits William & Mary and Drexel this week as it looks to build upon
last week's key wins over Duke and Hofstra. The Tribe has dropped four of
its last five while Drexel is tied with James Madison for the league lead

Comeback As Seahawks Upend Blue Devils
The UNCW men's soccer team erupted for two goals in a 3:08 span late in the
game, including the go-ahead strike by sophomore midfielder Jamie Dell with
6:17 remaining, to stun Duke, 2-1, in a non-conference match Tuesday at the

Cardona Returns Sophomore midfielder Mateo Cardona returned to the starting lineup,
one game after getting back on the field following a knee injury. Cardona
has scored a goal in three of the four games he's played this season. He converted
a penalty in UNCW's win over Duke.
Williams Makes
Starting Debut Freshman goalkeeper Sam Williams faced just four shots in his starting
debut ealier this week against Duke. Williams did not record a save in the
win, but limited Duke's ability to cross the ball with a half dozen interceptions.
Williams made his collegiate debut off the bench against George Mason.

Bolstered by goals from Taylor Morgan and Timmy Mulgrew, George Mason topped
UNCW, 2-0, in the Colonial Athletic Association season opener for both sides

Tabbed All-Tournament
Sophomore Jamie Dell and junior Michael Parrish were named to the Hilton Garden
Inn Classic all-tournament squad. Saint Mary's won the tournament with six
points. BU's Jake Keegan was the Most Outstanding Offensive Performer while
SMC's Andre Rawls was the Defensive MVP.

The Tribe, like the Seahawks, has played a very difficult non-conference schedule
that includes Butler, St. John’s, Creighton and Elon … W&M
has posted a mark of 0-4-1 in its last five matches following a 3-0 home loss
to Drexel … During that five-game span, the Tribe has scored just three
goals … Ben Anderson leads the W&M squad with eight points on two
goals and a team-leading four assists … Chris Albiston and Marcus Luster
are tied with Anderson for the team lead with two goals … Bennett Jones
has played every minute for the Tribe in goal and has fashioned a 1.33 goals
against average and made 39 saves.

Association
UNCW was picked in a tie for eighth with Hofstra in the 12-team circuit in
a vote of the league's coaches (story).
The CAA sent four teams to the NCAA tournament including conference champion
Delaware, who claimed the league title for the first time. Joining the Blue
Hens in the 48-team tournament were Old Dominion, James Madison and Georgia
State. ODU was picked by the league's coaches to win the conference title
and received nine of a possible 11 first-place votes. James Madison received
one vote and was second followed by defending champion Delaware. William &
Mary and Northeastern rounded out the top five.
Boulanger Honored
Senior midfielder Etienne Boulanger was honored by the league's coaches by
being named to the preason honorable mention All-CAA squad. Boulanger is UNCW's
top-returning career scorer with 29 points on 13 goals and three asists. Last
season, he totaled five points on a pair of goals and an assist.
