BLACKSBURG, Virginia - Sophomore Alyssa Ritchie reached the championship match in Flight B singles and doubles and junior Kelly Cameron also reached the finals of Flight C singles as the UNCW women's tennis team completed the second day of the 19th Annual Hokie Fall Women's Tennis Invitational Saturday at Virginia Tech's Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.

A sophomore from Franklin, Ohio, Ritchie reached the championship of the B Singles flight by beating Virginia Tech's Raluca Mita in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4. She will face Armstrong Atlantic's Marlen Hacke Sunday. Ritchie's teammate, senior Christina Riley, lost in the quarterfinals to Hacke, 6-1, 6-2, early Saturday and will face Middle Tennessee State's Flavia Nagayama for seventh place.

In Flight A singles, junior Angie Sekely of UNCW fell to East Tennessee State's Antonia Kolovou in the quarterfinals, 6-3, 6-3, but defeated Isel Martinez-Marcos of Virginia Tech, 6-1, 6-3, to reach the fifth place match.

The Seahawks went 1-1 in two semifinals of the C singles bracket. Cameron rolled past Virginia Tech's Tea Ivanovic, 6-1, 6-1, to reach the championship match and will battle Armstrong Atlantic's Clara Perez, who beat UNCW freshman Christine Kharkevitch, 6-0, 6-1. Kharkevitch and Ivanovic will vie for third place in the flight.

In D Flight singles, Seahawk sophomore Hamilton Lovett beat Liberty's Nicola Wellman, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, to reach the semifinals before falling to Sofia Espana of ETSU, 6-2, 6-4. Sophomore Miller Hales fell to Middle Tennessee's Inna Constantinide, 6-2, 6-1, earlier in the day and will play for fifth place in the bracket.

In doubles action, two Seahawk teams will tangle for ninth place in Flight A. Cameron and Hales are scheduled to play Sekely and Olga Blank in the match.

Meanwhile, Ritchie and Kharkevitch advanced to the championship of Flight B Doubles with an easy 8-1 verdict over Constantinide and Nayara Moraes of MTSU. Ritchie and Kharkevich will play Liberty's Jessie Boda and Brittany Yang in the title match Sunday. Riley and Lovett will take on Constantinide and Moraes in the third place match.

"We had some tougher competition today and some up and down results," said first-year Head Coach Evan Clark. "We are competing well across the board, though, but just not executing at critical times. We will look to continue to get better on the final day tomorrow.

"I'm really pleased with Alyssa and Kelly's results today. They both have reached the final of their respective singles flights and will compete for championships tomorrow. They have really impressed me in the tournament and I know they are excited to play for a championship tomorrow."
