WILMINGTON, North
Carolina - Former UNCW standouts Bob Vanderham and Jordan Daywalt were
honored as All-Academic Track & Field student-athletes by the United States
Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Vanderham participated in the NCAA First Round in
Jacksonville, Fla., in the 800 meters where he finished 25th with time of
1:50.74, one spot from advancing to the finals.
A two-time defending Colonial Athletic Association champion
in the 800 meters, he finished the year ranked 12th in the East in the 800
meters and 35th nationally.
Vanderham posted a grade point average of 3.48 for the 2011-12
academic year while majoring in Business Administration. He was a nominee for
CAA Track & Field Scholar-Athlete of the year.
Daywalt also competed at the NCAA First Round meet, placing
27th with a mark of 3.80 meters. Daywalt advanced to the regional with a
school-record vault of 3.96 meters.
She completed her academic year with a GPA of 3.59 while
majoring in Parks and Recreation Management with a minor in Leadership Studies.
