JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Senior Bob Vanderham finished 25th, one spot short of qualifying for the finals round in the 800 meters, as he was one of two UNCW athletes to compete on Friday at the NCAA First Round site in Jacksonville, Fla.

Vanderham, who is the two-time defending Colonial Athletic Association champion in the 800 meters, clocked in with a time of 1:50.74.

Also competing on the opening day was sophomore Aerial Chatman who placed 19th in the Long Jump with a jump of 7.33 meters.

Competing on Friday are Chatman in the Triple Jump and Jordan Daywalt in the women's Pole Vault.
