BRADENTON, Florida
- Led by Payne McLeod's third win in match play action, UNCW sailed past No. 45
Kennesaw State, 4.5 - 0.5, on Monday at the Callaway Collegiate Match Play
Championships at the Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Florida.
McLeod improved to 3-0 on the tournament with a 5&4 win
against KSU's Jeff Karlsson. McLeod raced out to a quick 3-0 lead winning the
first three holes before halving the fourth hole. Holding a two-hole lead after
eight holes, McLeod added three more holes to his credit and ended the match
after 14 holes.
Patrick Sawrey added a 5&4 win against KSU's Peder
Hermansson while Thomas Bass won his match against Matt Nagy, 4&3, and
Stefan Brewer won 1 up. Ryan Nagy halved his match to close out the win for the
Seahawks.
UNCW closes out its appearance at the Match Play with a match
against Washington State on Tuesday.
