WILMINGTON, North
Carolina - After netting his first career hat trick and leading UNCW to a
win in its season finale, senior strike Shawn Guderian was named Colonial
Athletic Association Player-of-the-Week on Monday.
Guderian moved into the team lead with 10 points on five
goals, matching his previous career-high of five goals in 2009 as the Seahawks
reached the second round of the NCAA tournament.
In the season finale, Guderian staked the Seahawks to a 3-0
lead with a pair of goals in the first half and his third coming in the opening
two minutes of the second half. His previous high for goals in a game was two against
Campbell in the 2009 season opener.
The hat trick was also the first for a Seahawk since the
2008 season when Devan Carroll turned the trick in 2008 at William & Mary.
Guderian finished his career with the Seahawks with 12
career goals in 59 games.
