Junior Michael Williams won the 100 Freestyle and swam on the winning 400
Freestyle Relay to lead the UNCW men's swimming team to a sweep of Colonial
Athletic Association foes Delaware and host Towson on Sunday. The women topped
Delaware, but fell to Towson.
The Seahawks evened their record at 4-4 on the men's side
while the women moved to 5-6.
Williams set the pace in the 100 Free with a time of 45.99
and later swam the anchor leg of the 400 Free Relay that topped the field with
a time of 3:06.28
Other individual event winners for the Seahawks were
freshman Valtteri Halonen (200 Back) and senior Brandon Hicks (200 Fly).
Joining Williams on the winning relay were freshman C.J.
Fiala, sophomores Gabe Thran and Joe Gallene.
The only win on the afternoon for the Lady Seahawks was in
the 400 Free Relay. Junior Carly Tanner and seniors Mattie Riley, Libby Mayock
and Anna Munger combined to win the relay with a time of 3:27.60.
The Seahawks head to Fairfax, Va., for the Patriot
Invitational, Nov. 17-19.
