WILMINGTON, N.C. - The Blue Team plated three runs in the top of the third and the pitching limited Teal to just three hits on the game as Blue topped Teal, 4-1, in the final game of the Blue-Teal World Series on Tuesday at Brooks Field.

Sophomore Thomas Jones pitched a scoreless fourth inning and picked up the win. Both teams combined to use 14 pitchers in the seven-inning contest. Sophomore Ryan Walker was credited with the loss.

In the fourth inning, senior Grayson Evans greeted Walker into the game with a double and would come around to score on junior Cody Stanley's single up the middle for the first run. Sophomore Aaron Jones added one-out RBI singles as Blue worked its way through the Teal bullpen. Senior Rhett Miller capped the scoring with a bases-loaded RBI walk.

Junior Alex Hill's sacrifice fly in the fifth pushed Blue's lead to 4-0.

Senior Robbie Monday ruined Blue's shutout bid in the bottom of the seventh with a solo homer to right.

Although Blue rallied to win the final two games, Teal won the series four games to three.

Sophomore Andrew Cain (TEAL) was tabbed as the Offensive MVP, hitting .500 (8-16) with seven runs scored and seven driven in. He also connected on three homers and drew 11 walks.

Junior closer Stephen Harrold (TEAL) was the pitching MVP after posting four saves over five appearances and allowing just one run.

Senior middle infielder Michael Rooney (TEAL) earned Gold Glove honors.
