WILMINGTON, N.C. - Daniel Cropper and the Teal bullpen limited Blue to one run over the final six innings in an 8-5 win in game five the Blue-Teal World Series on Sunday at Brooks Field. The series will continue on Oct. 20 at 2:30 p.m. and the final game will be played on Oct. 21, also at 2:30 p.m.

Cropper fought through a pair of two-run innings in the second and third as Teal tied the game at 4-all in the third and then added a run in the fourth and two more in the fifth to take a 7-4 lead. Cropper earned the win, going five innings and allowing four runs on six hits. The righthander finished with a walk and three strikeouts as he was able to limit the damage in the second and third.

Junior righthanded closer Stephen Harrold earned his fourth save of the series.

Senior righthander Seth Frankoff didn't make it out of the fourth and was tagged with the loss after allowing five runs on six hits and three walks in 3 2/3 innings.

Trailing 3-0 after one, Blue battled back in the second and third innings to take a short-lived 4-3 lead with red-shirt freshman Dakota Piver belting a pair of homers and sophomore Aaron Jones adding a solo shot of his own.

With Teal holding a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the fifth, sophomore Andrew Cain connected on a two-run shot to give Teal a three-run cushion at 7-4. It was his sixth homer of the fall.

Freshman Will Edgerton added a pair of hits, including a double, for Blue and scored a run and stole a base.

Senior Michael Rooney joined red-shirt senior Matt Holt and senior Bobby Leeper with two hits apiece. Rooney scored twice while Holt homered and knocked in four runs.
