WILMINGTON, N.C. UNC Wilmington’s student-athletes continue to make solid academic progress and it shows in the annual Academic Progress Rate (APR) report released Tuesday by the NCAA.

 

All 19 of UNCW’s intercollegiate teams remain in full compliance with the governing body’s guidelines, and the men’s basketball team received a Public Recognition Award recently for being in the top 10 percent nationally for its work in the classroom.

 

“We’re very pleased with this latest round of data,” said Kelly Mehrtens, UNCW’s athletic director. “I commend our student-athletes, coaches and academic support staff for their efforts, both athletically and academically.”

 

The multi-year report is based on data submitted for the 2003-04, 2004-05, 2005-06 and 2006-07 academic years by UNCW athletic officials.
