Q: Tell us a little more about yourself. I am from Hamlet, NC originally and played football, basketball, and baseball at Richmond Senior High. I was drafted by the Montreal Expos after my senior year at Richmond but chose to come to UNCW to play baseball. I played 6 years professionally after UNCW with the San Francisco Giants, Florida Marlins and Cleveland Indians. I am still very active with the UNCW baseball team. I am currently employed at Alpha Mortgage
Q: How did you get interested in UNCW Athletics and the Seahawk Club? My brother played here before me so I really never thought about going anywhere else. I became interested in the Seahawk Club several years ago when I realized how important it is to our athletic programs.
Q: What makes the Seahawk Club and Seahawk Athletics special? The Seahawk Club is special because it is the communities way to invest in something that can and should be on a national level of competition. Through dollars and time given by our members we make this a more attractive place to attend for top notch student athletes.
Q: What would you say to a prospective donor who is thinking about joining the Seahawk Club? First of all, I want the prospect to really believe what we are doing here. UNCW is a special place for many but we need the city of Wilmington behind us. If we win this city over for our Hawks, the sky is the limit for what we can accomplish!
Q: What is your most memorable UNCW moment? As an assistant coach on the 2003 regional baseball team that went to the championship game at LSU. We thoroughly believed we were the best team in the country over the last six weeks and showed it. We narrowly missed an opportunity of winning the regional and advancing.
Q: What excites you the most about the future of UNCW Athletics? What is most exciting to me is this is truly a sleeping GIANT! We can be a national contender in so many sports. The future is bright and when we get there, soon, it will be lots of fun!
