WILMINGTON, North Carolina - The UNCW Seahawk Club is staging the Midnite Madness 5K Night Run on Friday, Oct. 12, to kick off the annual tradition that opens the basketball season.

The run/walk, with proceeds benefitting UNCW student-athlete scholarships, begins at 7 p.m. at the Harold Greene Track & Field Complex and finishes in front of Trask Coliseum. Activities are planned for children on the lawn near Trask Coliseum.

The entry fee is $30 per person for early registration prior to Sept. 28. UNCW students and participants in the one-mile fun run are only $20. Entry fees are $35 and $25 after Sept. 28.

A cash prize will be given to the first-place finisher in the male, female and master groupings. In addition, awards will be presented to the top three in each age group. All runners are eligible for raffle prizes that will be given away following the race.
