WILMINGTON, North Carolina - The UNCW women's soccer team concludes its regular season schedule Wednesday with a 4 p.m. Colonial Athletic Association contest at Georgia State.

CAA Championship Seeding Scenarios
The six teams who will battle for the 2012 CAA Women's Soccer Championship have been determined, but the seeds are still up for grabs ... Heading into Wednesday's regular-season finales, William & Mary, Drexel, Delaware, Hofstra, Northeastern and UNCW are separated by just three points ... UNCW can finish anywhere from second to sixth place based on their result at Georgia State Wednesday ... A win assures the Seahawks of a finish no lower than fourth, while a loss or a tie will most likely put the Seahawks in fifth or sixth place, depending upon the outcomes of the other games on Wednesday ... The #3 seed and #4 seed will host quarterfinal matches on Sunday, with the winners advancing to the site of the #1 seed for the semifinals and finals on Nov. 2 and Nov. 4.

Seahawk Notes
UNCW qualified for the 2012 CAA Women's Soccer Championship with a pair of road victories last weekend, knocking off Towson (5-2) and George Mason (4-0) to earn a spot in the six-team field ... Senior Stephanie Rose powered the Seahawks attack, notching three goals and three assists as she expanded her league-leading point total to 35 (12 G, 11 A) ... Rose, who earned CAA Player-of-the-Week honors on Monday for the second time this season, also became the program's single-season assists leader with her three helpers last weekend while also moving up the school's season goals (T-3rd) and points (2nd) charts as well ... Freshman Maddie McCormick earned CAA Rookie-of-the-Week accolades as she became the first UNCW player since the 2004 season to record a hat trick as she found the back of the net three times in the win over the Tigers ... Sophomore Stephanie Bronson scored in both contests to give the Raleigh, N.C., product a goal in three of the last four contests ... Freshman Katrina Guillou tallied the first points of her collegiate career during the road swing, notching a goal and an assist in the win versus the Patriots ... Senior keeper Caitlin Hunter picked up victories in both contests to become the program's career leader in victories, surpassing Meghan Fitzsimmons with her 28th career triumph in the shutout against George Mason ... Hunter also moved into a tie for first place on the program's single-season shutouts list with her sixth clean sheet of the season, finishing with seven saves in the 4-0 victory against the Patriots.

Scouting Georgia State
Georgia State enters its final contest of the 2012 season with a 4-10-2 overall record and a 1-7-1 CAA mark after posting an 0-1-1 mark in a two-game road swing last weekend ... The Panthers opened the trip with a 2-1 loss at George Mason before closing out the weekend with a 1-1 draw with Towson ... Whitney Ravan leads the team in scoring with 11 points on four goals and three assists while Jordan Young (3 G, 1 A) and Alyssia Feronti (2 G, 3 A) are tied for second with seven points apiece ... Rebecca Toler has earned the starting job in goal for the Panthers and has posted a 1.83 goals against average and a .704 save percentage in 1178 minutes played ... Derek Leader is in his first season as head coach of the GSU program ... He joined the Panthers in January after spending four seasons as an associate and assistant coach at SMU.

Series Notes Versus Georgia State
UNCW holds a 4-2-1 lead in the all-time series with Georgia State ... All seven meetings have come since the Panthers joined the CAA in 2005 ... The Panthers have won each of the last two meetings between the two programs, including a 2-1 overtime victory at the UNCW Soccer Stadium last October ... The Seahawks are 2-1 in three previous visits to Pantherville ... UNCW lost in its last road contest against the Panthers, a 1-0 setback on Oct. 30, 2010.  

Seahawks Ranked Ninth In NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Poll
UNCW returned to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's (NSCAA) Mid-Atlantic Region Poll this week, occupying ninth place on the listing that features teams from the CAA, Atlantic 10, Ivy and Patriot leagues ... UNCW had been ranked or receiving votes in the first eight polls this season prior to moving out of the rankings a week ago ... The Seahawks are one of three CAA squads either ranked or receiving votes in the NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Poll as conference foes William & Mary (4th), Drexel (5th) are also among the top 10.

Rose Named To Preseason CAA Squad
UNCW senior forward Stephanie Rose was named to the Preseason All-CAA Women's Soccer Team on Aug. 15 ... Rose, a native of Jacksonville, N.C., earned Third-Team All-CAA accolades last season after leading the Seahawks in scoring with 10 points on a team-high five goals.

Seahawks Record Tie Against No. 3 Wake Forest
UNCW posted its first win or tie against a top 10 opponent when it played to a 0-0 draw against No. 3 Wake Forest at the Hilton Garden Inn Hokie Invitational in Blacksburg, Va. on Aug. 19 ... The draw also marked the Seahawks first result against an opponent from the Atlantic Coast Conference as they had compiled a 0-11-0 mark versus the league prior to the tie with the Demon Deacons.

Hunter Honored For Solid Opening Weekend
Senior keeper Caitlin Hunter was recognized by various outlets for her play in the Hilton Garden Inn Hokie Invitational in mid-August ... On Aug. 20, Hunter was named the Colonial Athletic Association Women's Soccer Co-Player-of-the-Week and was selected as the CAA Player-of-the-Week by the online publication College Sports Madness ... Hunter was also selected as the keeper for the Soccer America Women's Team-of-the-Week on Aug. 22 ... Hunter allowed just one goal in 211:37 in guiding the Seahawks to a 0-1-1 result against two ranked opponents at the Hilton Garden Inn Hokie Invitational ... The Ashburn, Va., product made six saves in a 1-0 double-overtime loss to host No. 22 Virginia Tech in the season opener on Aug. 17 before posting 10 saves in a 0-0 draw against No. 3 Wake Forest on Aug. 19 to record her eighth career shutout.

Currie Recognized By Collegesoccer360.com
UNCW senior midfielder Kim Currie was recognized by Collegesoccer360.com in early September, earning Primetime Player accolades from the online publication for the week of Sept. 3-9 ... Currie was recognized after earning MVP honors in the UNCW Courtyard Marriott Wilmington Invitational, tallying five points on two goals and an assist to lead the Seahawks to the tournament title with shutout victories over Campbell and Troy ... She opened the weekend with a goal in the Seahawks 3-0 victory over the Camels and capped the event with a goal and an assist in UNCW's 4-0 blanking of the Trojans.

Record Watch
Senior Stephanie Rose is currently third place on the program's career points list with 83 points (32 G, 19 A) and is second on the squad's single-season points chart with 35  (12 G, 11 A) ... With her nine points last week, Rose now sits just one point away from matching Kristine Mengle for second place on the school's career scoring chart (84) and is now 11 points shy of matching Christy Timbers single-season scoring record (46) ... Rose's three goals last week also moved her into sole possession of third place on the program's career goals chart (32) and catapulted her into a three-way tie for third on the single-season goals list ... With her three assists last week, Rose moved into first place on the program's single-season assists chart (11) ... She now needs just one assist to match Timbers for first place on the school's career assists chart (20) ... Senior keeper Caitlin Hunter finds herself ranked on four of the program's career charts, entering the week in first place in wins (28), second in saves (321), third in save percentage (.805) and fifth in goals against average (1.30) ... Hutner's victory against Towson moved her into sole possession of first place on the school's career wins chart surpassing former keeper Meghan Fitzsimmons ... Hunter also moved into a tie for first place on the school's single-season shutouts list with her sixth shutout of the season against George Mason last Sunday.
