Junior Nicole Costa and the Seahawks will face Campbell and Troy this weekend in the he UNCW Courtyard Marriott Wilmington Invitational at the UNCW Soccer Stadium
WILMINGTON, North Carolina - The UNCW women's soccer team concludes its four-game homestand this weekend as it takes on Campbell and Troy in the UNCW Courtyard Marriott Wilmington Invitational at the UNCW Soccer Stadium.

Tournament Schedule
The UNCW Courtyard Marriott Wilmington Invitational will feature a total of four games at the UNCW Soccer Stadium as the teams will play two games on Friday and two on Sunday ... Elon and Troy open the tournament Friday with a 5 p.m. contest before UNCW and Campbell square off in the nightcap at 7:30 p.m. ... Sunday's action begins with the Seahawks and Trojans at Noon before the Camels and Phoenix close out the tournament at 2:30 p.m.

Seahawk Notes
UNCW enters the UNCW Courtyard Marriott Wilmington Invitational with a 2-2-1 record after recording victories against Charlotte (3-0) and Davidson (3-2) at home last weekend to open the four-game homestand ... Against Charlotte, the Seahawks picked up their first victory in six tries versus the 49ers as UNCW held a commanding 18-6 shot advantage in the contest ... Freshman Morgan Leyble tallied her first career goal and added an assist while senior Kim Currie and junior Nicole Costa also scored in the contest ... Senior keeper Caitlin Hunter made nine saves to record her second shutout of the season and the ninth of her career ... Versus Davidson, senior Stephanie Rose recorded four points on a goal and two assists to lead UNCW to its fourth victory in five tries against the Wildcats ... Leyble and senior Amanda Holmes also scored for the Seahawks ... Rose and Leyble were both recognized  by the Colonial Athletic Association on Monday ... Rose was named Co-Player-of-the-Week and Leyble was tabbed Rookie-of-the-Week.

Scouting Campbell
Campbell takes to the road for the first time this season with a 2-0-1 mark after opening the 2012 campaign with a three-game homestand that featured wins over East Carolina and Marshall and a tie against Francis Marion ... The Camels are coming off a 4-2 victory over visiting Marshall on Labor Day ... Sophomore Ashley Clark scored two goals and added an assist to pace the Camels to the two-goal triumph ... Clark leads the team in scoring with nine points (4 G, 1 A) while senior Taylor Brown (2 G) and sophomore Michelle Procaccini (1 G, 1 A) have  tallied four and three points, respectively this season to sit second and third ... In goal, senior Ryann Torrero has started all three games and has posted a 16 saves, a 0.93 goals against average and a .842 save percentage ... The Camels are coached by Tony Clark, who is in his seventh season with the program ... Clark led the Camels 15-5-2 overall record in 2011, the best finish to a season for the Camels since the 1995 campaign.

Series Notes Versus Campbell
UNCW and Campbell will meet for the 10th time in series history and the first time since the 2005 season on Friday ... The Seahawks hold a 6-3 edge in the all-time series and have won each of the last two meetings ... The last matchup between the two programs occurred exactly seven years ago to the day at the UNCW Soccer Stadium, a 1-0 victory for the Seahawks ... Only three of the previous nine meetings between the two programs have been one-goal contests ... All three of those one-goal games took place at the UNCW Soccer Stadium.

Scouting Troy
Troy makes its way to the Port City with a 4-2-1 record following a 1-0-1 finish to its Trojan Invitational last weekend, opening the event with a 0-0 draw with Louisiana Tech on Friday before defeating Stetson, 1-0, on Sunday ... Junior Cecilia Thorngren  (3 G, 4 A) and sophomore Chelsey Williams (3 G, 2 A) have teamed up to provide much of the scoring punch for the Trojans in the early going ... Junior Maddie Winter has started all seven games in goal for Troy and has posted a 1.58 goals against average and .778 save percentage ... Freshman Katie Comeno-Lewis has seen considerable reserve duty in the cage, notching 11 saves in 195 minutes of work ... Trojans Head Coach Chris Bentley is in his fifth season with the program ... In his first four seasons, Bentley has led the program to 37 wins, the highest four-year win total in program history.

Series Notes Versus Troy
Sunday's contest marks the first meeting between UNCW and Troy ... The matchup with the Trojans also represents the first contest for the Seahawks against a current member of the Sun Belt Conference.

Seahawks Ranked Fourth In NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Poll
UNCW finds itself ranked in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's (NSCAA) Mid-Atlantic Region Poll for the third straight week, coming in fourth place on the listing that features teams from the CAA, Atlantic 10, Ivy and Patriot leagues ... The Seahawks are one of three CAA squads ranked in the NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Poll as they are joined by conference foes William & Mary (2nd) and Hofstra (8th).

Seahawks Record Tie Against No. 3 Wake Forest
UNCW posted its first win or tie against a top 10 opponent when it played to a 0-0 draw against No. 3 Wake Forest at the Hilton Garden Inn Hokie Invitational in Blacksburg, Va. on Aug. 19 ... The draw also marked the Seahawks first result against an opponent from the Atlantic Coast Conference as they had compiled a 0-11-0 mark versus the league prior to the tie with the Demon Deacons.

Hunter Honored For Solid Opening Weekend
Senior keeper Caitlin Hunter was recognized by various outlets for her play at the Hilton Garden Inn Hokie Invitational in mid-August ... On Aug. 20, Hunter was named the Colonial Athletic Association Women's Soccer Co-Player-of-the-Week and was selected as the CAA Player-of-the-Week by the online publication College Sports Madness ... Hunter was also selected as the keeper for the Soccer America Women's Team-of-the-Week on Aug. 22 ... Hunter allowed just one goal in 211:37 in guiding the Seahawks to a 0-1-1 result against two ranked opponents at the Hilton Garden Inn Hokie Invitational ... The Ashburn, Va., product made six saves in a 1-0 double-overtime loss to host No. 22 Virginia Tech in the season opener on Aug. 17 before posting 10 saves in a 0-0 draw against No. 3 Wake Forest on Aug. 19 to record her eighth career shutout.

Record Watch
Senior Stephanie Rose is currently fifth in program history with 21 goals ... She broke a tie with former standout Jenny Cauble (2004-07) with her goal against Davidson on Sept. 2 and now needs just one more goal to match Michell Doherty (1998-2000) for fourth place (22) ... Rose also sits in seventh place on the squad's career scoring chart with 53 points and is just one point away from tying three players - Cauble, Doherty  and Katy Shearon (1995-98) - for fourth place on the all-time list (54) ... Senior keeper Caitlin Hunter finds herself in second place in wins (19), third in saves (266), third in save percentage (.801) and fifth in goals against average (1.40) ... Her two victories last weekend moved Hunter past Carla Linebarger (1996-99) into sole possession of second place on the all-time wins chart.

Around The Colonial Athletic Association
Drexel sits atop the league standings with a 4-1-1 overall mark after posting a win and a tie last weekend during its trip to Hawaii ... The Dragons are now unbeaten in their last five matches after opening the season with a 2-0 loss at Longwood ... All 11 teams in the league have posted at least one win or tie this season with Towson (0-4-1) the only team yet to record a victory ... George Mason's Tiana Kellenberger remains the league's leading scorer with 13 points (5 G, 3 A) ... Kellenberger is also tied for the league lead in goals with Hofstra's Sam Scolarici ... In goal, James Madison's Kate Courter sits atop the CAA standings in goals against average (0.63) while UNCW senior Caitlin Hunter is second (0.93) ... Hunter, meanwhile, continues to pace the circuit in saves (43), save percentage (.896) and saves per game (8.60) ... UNCW senior Stephanie Rose and William and Mary's Mallory Schaefer were named Co-Player-of-the-Week on Monday ... Seahawk freshman Morgan Leyble was tabbed Rookie-of-the-Week.

UNCW wraps up the non-conference portion of its schedule next weekend, traveling to Coastal Carolina for a 7 p.m. kickoff on Sept. 13 before returning home Sept. 16 to host East Carolina in a 7 p.m. start.
