WILLIAMSBURG,
Virginia - Junior midfielder Stephanie Rose earned all-conference accolades
for the third time in the career Wednesday as the Colonial Athletic Association
announced its annual awards on the eve of the Virginia
529 CAA Women's Soccer Championship.
Rose was named Third-Team All-CAA for the second season in a row after leading the Seahawks in scoring with 10 points on a team-high five goals. The Jacksonville, N.C., native will enter her senior season ranked in the top 10 in school history in goals (20/T-5th) and points (48/7th). "I am sure Stephanie shares this recognition with our team," said UNCW Head Coach Paul Cairney. "I am also sure she would give this up to still be playing in the post-season. Four of her five goals came in CAA play, and she was finding the net late in the season. We expect her to have a great senior year next season." William & Mary junior midfielder Mallory Schaffer was selected as the 2011 Colonial Athletic Association women's soccer Player of the Year. Also receiving top women's soccer honors from the conference were VCU junior back Karol Sanchez as CAA Defensive Player of the Year and VCU freshman midfielder Cristin Granados as CAA Rookie of the Year. Receiving CAA Co-Coach of the Year accolades were William & Mary's John Daly and VCU's Tiffany Roberts Sahaydak and Tim Sahaydak. 2011 CAA Women's Soccer Award Winners First Team
