The Seahawks (2-7, 0-1 CAA) enter Thurday's matchup with the Lady Monarchs in search of their first league victory after suffering a 3-1 setback in their league opener at Drexel last Sunday. Junior Stephanie Rose scored UNCW's lone goal against the Dragons to overtake junior Amanda Holmes for first place on the team's scoring list with four points (2 G). Junior Caitlin Hunter finished with 10 saves versus Drexel to continue her solid play this season that has put the Ashburn, Va., product among the league leaders in save percentage (.803/2nd), total saves (53/2nd) and saves per game (5.89/1st).

ODU (4-4-2, 1-01 CAA) looks to conclude their four-game homestand with an unblemished mark as they opened league play with a tie against George Mason (4-4) and a victory over Towson (2-1) at home last weekend. Senior Lisa Bernardini leads the Lady Monarchs in scoring with nine points (3 G, 3 A) while junior Ashlee Coutu is closely behind in second with eight (4 G).  Junior Brianna Alvarado has seen the majority of action in goal for coach Joe Pereira's squad, fashioning a 1.95 goals against average to go along with a .700 save percentage and two shutouts in 10 appearances.

UNCW trails in the all-time series against ODU by a 10-8-1 margin, but has enjoyed recent success in the series, winning each of its last five games against the Lady Monarchs.  The Seahawks have won in each of their last two trips to the Old Dominion Soccer Complex, including a 3-1 triumph in their most recent visit during the 2009 season.
