The Seahawks (3-19; 2-6 CAA) are back home after wrapping up a two-game road trip with a 56-44 setback at Northeastern on Sunday. Freshman Ryan Flowers recorded her third double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds, but the Seahawks shot just  19-of-53 (.358) from the floor for the contest, including a 1-of-13 (.077) effort from 3-point range. Freshman Brie Mobley joined Flowers in double figures with 11 points.

Flowers has been a force of late as she has averaged 12.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per game over the last five contests. Flowers has posted two double-doubles during that span, including a 15-point, 11-rebound effort in the Seahawks matchup with Northeastern on Sunday.

Delaware (13-6; 5-3 CAA) carries a two-game winning streak into Friday’s matchup after dispatching Towson with a 69-44 victory Sunday at the Bob Carpenter Center. Senior Kelsey Buchanan continues to have a monster final campaign for the Blue Hens as she leads the team and ranks among the top three players in the CAA in both scoring (18.7/2nd), rebounding (8.5./3rd) and field goal percentage (.495/3rd). Buchanan is the only Delaware player averaging double figures with sophomore Courtney Green (8.4), freshman Erika Brown (8.2) and freshman Shanice Johnson (7.9) all providing scoring depth for Head Coach Tina Martin’s squad.

Friday’s contest marks the 27th meeting between Delaware and UNCW. The Blue Hens hold a 19-7 advantage in the all-time series as they have won each of the last seven meetings between the two programs, including a 65-44 decision at the Bob Carpenter Center on Jan. 17.

UNCW has posted a 3-6 record in nine previous contests against Delaware at Trask Colisuem. The Seahawks had a two-game home winning streak against the Blue Hens snapped in their last meeting in the Port City, a 62-53 Delaware victory on Feb. 2, 2012.

UNCW is back in action Sunday as it hosts Drexel in a 1 p.m. matinee. The game will serve as the program’s annual “Play 4Kay” contest, with the team wearing pink uniforms and other apparel in support of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s program designed to raise awareness for breast cancer research.
