UPPER MARLBORO, Maryland - UNCW sophomore guard Kelva Atkins was named to the All-Tournament Team at the 2013 CAA Women's Basketball Championship, presented by Jani-King, tournament officials announced on Sunday. Atkins averaged 18.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in leading the Seahawks to a 1-1 record in the CAA Championship. The Stem, N.C., product opened the championship with a career-high 24 points on 10-of-17 shooting in a 60-46 victory over George Mason in the first round. Atkins also recorded six rebounds, four assists and three steals in the victory over the Patriots. She followed that performance with a team-best 13 points in a 51-43 setback to eventual tournament champion Delaware in the quarterfinals. CAA All-Tournament Team: |
