WILMINGTON, North Carolina - The UNC Wilmington women's basketball team moved down two spots to 18th place in the latest Collegeinsider.com Women's Mid-Major Top 25 Poll, released Tuesday.
Ranked for the ninth straight week and the 10th time this season, the Seahawks dropped down two spots after advancing to the semifinals of the Virginia 529 College Savings Plan Colonial Athletic Association Women's Basketball Championship before falling to Delaware, 62-47.
The CAA maintains a strong presence in the Mid-Major Poll as the Seahawks are one of three CAA teams ranked in the weekly listing that includes teams from 22 Division I Conferences.
Regular season and tournament champion James Madison remained in sixth while Old Dominion plummeted five slots to 17th after being beaten by the Blue Hens in the quarterfinals of the CAA Championship. Delaware and Virginia Commonwealth find themselves just outside the poll as they are among the teams also receiving votes.
