WILMINGTON, North Carolina - The UNC Wilmington women's basketball team takes to the floor at Trask Coliseum for the final time during the regular season Sunday as it hosts George Mason in a 2 p.m. Colonial Athletic Association matinee.
Live stats and pay-per-view video are available for the game and can be accessed by clicking on the respective links above. Prior to the start of Sunday's contest, UNCW will take time to honor its three seniors - Brittany Blackwell, Treasure Johnson and Martha White - for their contributions to the Seahawks program.
The Seahawks improved to 21-6 overall and 13-3 in league play with a 76-47 rout of Towson Thursday at the Towson Center that extended their winning streak to three games. UNCW shot 59.2 percent from the floor and knocked down all 14 of its free-throw attempts to establish a new program standard for free-throw percentage. Junior Kristen Hanzer led four UNCW players in double figures with a game-high 20 points while senior Brittany Blackwell added 15 and senior Martha White and freshman Alisha Andrews chipped in 13 points each.
George Mason carries a 12-15 overall record and 6-10 league mark into Sunday's contest as it looks to halt a brief two-game losing skid following a 77-69 setback at Hofstra on Thursday. Taleia Moton powers the Patriots attack as she leads the team in points (12.1) and assists (2.7) per contest while Brittany Poindexter (12.0) and Amber Easter (10.2) give Mason a trio of double-digit scoring options. Angelee LaTouche highlights the Patriots effort on the glass with a team-high 6.6 caroms per contest while Easter (5.7) and Poindexter (5.5) figure largely in the team's 36.9 rebounds per contest.
Sunday's contest marks the 60th meeting between UNC Wilmington and George Mason in a series that dates back to the founding of the Colonial Athletic Association in 1984-85. The Patriots hold a 33-26 advantage in the series, but UNCW has dominated play in the series of late, winning 16 of the last 18 matchups, including the first matchup of the season, a 67-51 victory in Fairfax on Jan. 13 that saw the Seahawks shoot 55.6 percent (25-of-45) from the floor and force the Patriots into 22 turnovers.
UNCW closes out the regular season Wednesday with a 7 p.m. contest at league-leading James Madison.
