Release: 03/14/2012 WILMINGTON, North Carolina - Junior forward Keith Rendleman of the UNCW men's basketball team has added yet another accolade to his cache of post-season honors. The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) selected the Iron Station, N.C., junior First-team All-District 10 early Wednesday. Rendleman, a 6-8, 213-pound workhorse inside for the Seahawks, was singled out by the NABC after earning similar recognition from the Colonial Athletic Association, CollegeHoops.Net and Net Scouts Basketball. "Keith had a phenomenal season and deserves this recognition," said Buzz Peterson, who recently completed his second year with the program. "He set an excellent example with his hard work in practice and that carried over into the games. This award is fitting because opposing coaches often mentioned Keith's improvement and his energy level throughout the season." The talented performer, a graduate of East Lincoln High School, was the only Seahawk to play and start all 31 games and paced the squad in scoring (15.3 ppg) and rebounding (10.0 rpg) this season. Rendleman led the team in scoring in 14 games and rebounding in 23 contests. The East Lincoln High School graduate recorded 16 double doubles and now has 22 in his three-year career. For his career, Rendleman has made 93 appearances - making 78 starts - and scored 1,005 points (10.8 ppg) and grabbed 741 rebounds (8.0 rpg). The NABC recognized 240 NCAA Division I student-athletes from 24 districts across the United States. Other members of the District 10 team included Kent Bazemore (Old Dominion), Ryan Pearson (George Mason), Bradford Burgess (VCU) and Frantz Massenat (Drexel). |
