WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW softball team continues an 18-game homestand this weekend as it welcomes North Carolina Central to Boseman Field for a three-game series.

Due to weather in the Wilmington area this week, the Seahawk and Eagles will now play a single game on Saturday at 4 p.m. and a doubleheader on Sunday at Noon.

Live stats and a video stream are available for all three games. They can be accessed by clicking on the links at the top of the page.

The Seahawks (8-8) are in back in action after wrapping up tournament play with a 3-2 record in the UNCW Beach Bash last weekend at Boseman Field. Senior Brittany Gamby has paced the Seahawks offense in the early going, posting team highs of 14 hits and a .368 batting average. Freshman Nella Chamblee has been effective at the plate in the early going, ranking second on the team with a .333 batting average while driving in a team-best nine runs.

Led by junior Casey Rowland and freshman Peyton Jordan, the Seahawks pitching staff also thrived during tournament play, teaming up to post a 2.58 earned run average in 108.1 innings pitched thus far.

The Eagles (0-12) enter the weekend looking for its first victory of the season after posting a 0-6 record in the Mercer Bears Classic last weekend. London Germ leads the Eagles lineup in nearly every offensive statistical category with a .323 batting average, 10 hits, 12 total bases, five runs scored and three walks. In the circle, London Booker and Dominique Wilson have combined to pitch 58.1 of the team’s 64.1 innings in the field, teaming up for a 6.24 ERA and 41 strikeouts in that span.

UNCW holds a 12-1 lead in the all-time series with North Carolina Central. The two teams have met on the field in each of the past six seasons, including a doubleheader last April at Boseman Field that saw the Seahawks post a sweep of the Eagles, 9-0 and 5-1.

UNCW continues its homestand March 11 when it opens a three-game series against Youngstown State with a 3 p.m. doubleheader at Boseman Field.
