WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW closes out the non-conference schedule this evening with a 6 p.m. start at Campbell in Buies Creek, N.C.

The Seahawks carry a two-game winning streak into the game after winning the final two games of their series with the Citadel. On Sunday UNCW ran past the visiting Bulldogs, 9-3, to claim the series. Luke Dunlap broke open a close game early with a three-run double in a five-run second inning and Ryan LaGrange belted his team-leading fifth homer of the season to leadoff the third inning.

With his fifth homer of the season, LaGrange also took the club lead with 31 runs batted in. LaGrange hit .417 for the weekend and pushed his career batting average to an even .300. While he’s beginning to heat up again at the plate, LaGrange has continued to excel in the field. While splitting time between third base and shortstop, he’s committed just three errors.

Dunlap, meanwhile, hit .538 last weekend against the Citadel and knocked in four runs. His .324 batting average and 14 doubles lead the Seahawks.

UNCW edged Campbell earlier this season, 3-0, behind eight innings of shutout, two-hit baseball from Ryan Foster. Corey Dick led the Seahawks with three hits and just recently returned to the lineup following an injury.

The Seahawks will close out the regular season with a three-game Colonial Athletic Association series against Northeastern in Boston. The series opens on Thursday with a 3 p.m. start.
