WILMINGTON, North Carolina - UNCW hosts nationally-ranked NC State tonight in the first of the annual home-and-home series between the two programs. The Seahawks and Wolfpack will complete the series in Raleigh on April 23.

The Seahawks are coming off a series win over visiting Big 12 member West Virginia. UNCW opened the series with a 2-1 win over the Mountaineers in 10 innings, dropped the middle game 9-3, but rallied in the finale for a 13-10 victory. Kelly Secrest earned the win in the opener and nailed down the save in the finale.

NCSU, meanwhile, was swept by Maryland in College Park, Md., last weekend. It was the second straight weekend sweep suffered by the Wolfpack after falling at top-ranked Florida State the previous weekend.

The Seahawks begin a stretch where they will play seven of their next eight games on the road, beginning at James Madison this weekend in the Colonial Athletic Association opener for both teams.  The stretch concludes with three games at William & Mary, the nation’s top-hitting team, on April 4-6.

Tuesday’s East Carolina was postponed till Apr. 16.
