WILMINGTON, North Carolina - Mat Batts struck out seven over a masterful six innings as Blue grabbed a 2-0 lead in the Blue-Teal series on Saturday with a 4-1 win over Teal.

Batts (1-0) allowed just a run on four hits and a walk in picking up the win. He opened the game with five shutout innings, recording four 1-2-3 innings over that span. Batts retired the first 10 batters he faced before a one-out single by freshman Steven Linkous ended the streak.
