Summer Baseball Report

Welcome to this week's installment of the summer baseball report as we take a look at what the Seahawks are doing in the various summer leagues throughout the nation.

Jordan Ramsey (Cotuit Kettleers/Cape Cod League) - Ramsey lasted two innings, allowing four runs on four hits, but didn't figure in the decision in his last start against Brewster. The Kettleers, who lead the Cape with a 25-13 mark, were ranked by Perfect Game as the top team among summer collegiate teams.

Hunter Ridge (Asheboro Copperheads/Coastal Plain League) - With the conclusion of the regular season, the Copperheads will be the six-seed in the upcoming CPL playoffs. Ridge finished the season with a .274 batting average, four home runs and 18 runs batted in. He scored 15 while posting an on base average of .371.

Luke Dunlap (Columbia Blowfish/Coastal Plain League) - Dunlap hit .241 to end the season as the Blow Fish enter the playoffs. He scored eight runs and knocked in four after joining the club in the second half.

William Prince (Morehead City Marlins/Coastal Plain League) - Prince closed out the season tremendous fashion, winning two games and saving two as the Marlins won 11 of their last 12, but finished just short of a CPL playoff berth. Prince finished with a 2.49 ERA with 25 strikeouts in 21 2/3 innings.

Blaze Tart (Wilmington Sharks/Coastal Plain League) - In his last regular season start, he allowed two runs, one earned, over three innings, but didn't figure in the decision as the Sharks were swept in a doubleheader by Morehead City. He dropped his ERA to 2.08 in 39 innings on the season. Two starts ago, he carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning against Fayetteville, but a leadoff double ended his bid. He struck out seven and walked three in 6 1/3 innings.

Justin Livengood (Wilmington Sharks/Coastal Plain League) - Livengood struggled in the waning week of the season as his ERA jumped to 4.95 in his last two appearances. On the summer, he walked 16 and struck out 14 in 20 innings.

Dillon Bass (North Adams SteepleCats/New England Collegiate League) - Bass is hitting .156 in 45 at bats over the course of 18 games played.

Christian MacDonald (North Adams SteepleCats/New England Collegiate League) - MacDonald made one appearance since last report, a three inning stint against Mystic. He was tagged for three runs, two earned, on four hits. He walked one and struck out four. He has a 5.32 ERA in 11 appearances with 17 strikeouts in 23 2/3 innings.

Michael Bass (Bethesda Big Train/Cal Ripken League) - Bass helped the Big Train to the Cal Ripken League Championship, but Bethesda dropped a 4-3 decision to the Baltimore Redbirds for the title. Bass hit .350 in the playoffs with a homer and six runs scored. He finished the regular season with a .303 average, 39 runs scored, 14 doubles, 29 walks and 18 stolen bases.

Luis Renvill (Front Royal Cardinals/Shenandoah Valley League) - Renvill had two hits in the season finale for the Cardinals and finished with a .252 average. He doubled seven times, tripled twice and homered three times. Renvil scored 21 runs and knocked in 24.

Corey Dick (Front Royal Cardinals/Shenandoah Valley League) -Dick suffered a leg injury earlier in July and his season has come to an end. He was leading the Cards with a .311 average at the plate and a more impressive .455 on base average.

Ryan Mayhew (Front Royal Cardinals/Shenandoah Valley League) - Mayhew's summer has ended and he finished with an impressive 31 strikeouts in 15 2/3 innings. He posted a 5.17 ERA, with most of the damage coming early in the summer.

Justin Manning (Lake Norman Copperheads/Southern Collegiate Baseball League) - Manning ended the summer with a .307 batting average with 17 runs scored and 17 driven in.
