WILMINGTON, North Carolina - Corey Dick led the Seahawks with four hits and Tyler Molinaro and Andrew Cain homered back-to-back in the first inning, as UNCW raced past Towson, 11-2, to even its Colonial Athletic Association baseball series on Saturday at Brooks Field.

The Seahawks improved to 28-18 with the win and 18-5 in the circuit. Towson, meanwhile, saw its record dip to 21-26 and 11-12.

Dick, along with three hits apiece from Matt Campbell, Molinaro and Jake Koenig, keyed an offense that collected 20 hits on the afternoon, including seven extra base hits.

Mat Batts (5-4) was the beneficiary of the outburst, picking up the win by limiting the Tigers to an unearned run on six hits over six innings. He finished with two strikeouts and rolled eight ground ball outs while lowering his ERA to 2.43.

Molinaro and Cain's back-to-back homers in the first off losing pitcher Kyle Paul (2-3) set the tone from the onset as UNCW scored in five of the eight innings it hit.

Paul was saddled with the loss after allowing seven runs on 13 hits and a walk over five innings.

UNCW added three runs in the second to extend its lead to 5-0. Dick and Molinaro had RBI doubles in the frame and the third run came across on a wild pitch.

After scoring single runs in the fourth and fifth inning for a 7-0 lead, Molinaro, who finished with three runs batted in, and Hunter Ridge fueled a four-run inning with RBI doubles. Michael Bass (2-for3, 2 RBI) singled in a run and Cain capped the scoring with a sacrifice fly.

Towson got on the board in the sixth when Brendan Butler scored from second on a Seahawk error. Butler, the only Tiger with a multiple-hit game, finished 3-for-3 with a stolen base.

Butler then picked up an RBI in the ninth to close out the game's scoring with a sacrifice fly.

The series concludes on Sunday with a 2 p.m. start. Sunday will be the Molly Maid Pink Game with UNCW donning pink jerseys that will be auctioned off during the game. All proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
