RALEIGH, North Carolina – Logan Ratledge collected two hits and knocked in two runs as fifth-ranked NC State took advantage of three UNCW errors in the first three innings to build an early lead on its way to a 7-2 win on Tuesday at Doak Field.
The Wolfpack improved to 38-11 and swept the home-and-home series from the Seahawks, who dropped to 34-15.

Up next: The Seahawks host William & Mary in a key Colonial Athletic Association series beginning on May 9 at 6 p.m.
How it happened: The Wolfpack took advantage of poor Seahawk defense to open a 6-0 lead after three innings. A dropped flyball with two out led to a pair of unearned runs in the second and a fielding error opened the gates for three unearned runs in the third.
Inside the numbers: The Seahawks were 1-for-9 with two out and just 2-for-13 with runners on base … The UNCW bullpen allowed just one run over the final five and 1/3 innings … NCSU knocked in four runs with two out … NCSU starter Brad Stone held the Seahawks to 1-for-10 hitting from the rightside.
Notes: The Seahawks fell to 11-7 on the road … UNCW is now 1-5 vs the ACC this season … Josh Abshire doubled in the ninth inning on the same field his father Les played collegiately … UNCW suffered its first loss of the season against a lefthanded starter.
