WILMINGTON, North Carolina - UNCW returns to Colonial Athletic Association play this weekend beginning on Friday with a 6 p.m. start. The series continues on Saturday and Sunday with 2 p.m. starts each day. This will be the Seahawks’ first home conference series of the season after opening with a pair of road trips.

The Seahawks posted a pair of shutout wins in mid-week play that included win over rival Campbell, 3-0, and a white-washing of North Carolina Central, 9-0, in Durham. Ryan Foster tossed eight innings of two-hit shutout baseball against Campbell while five pitchers combined to three-hit NCCU on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, UNCW collected 12 hits with nine going for extra bases, including eight doubles, one short of the school record of nine. Eight different players doubled in the game and Robbie Thorburn added his first collegiate homer to go along with a two-bagger of this own. Evan Phillips was credited with the win after striking out five in two innings of relief.

Hofstra also tossed a shutout of its own with a 13-0 shellacking of NCAA Division III foe Farmingdale State. Freshman David Leiderman leads the HU offense hitting .304 and h12 runs. TJ Erhsam is hitting .309 with a team-high 10 stolen bases. HU is hitting .269 as a team while stealing 52 bases. On the mound, Pride hurlers have fashioned a 4.45 ERA.
