Player-of-the-Week Nominee

Luke Dunlap, OF/DH, Junior, Walnut Cove, N.C./East Forsyth

- Dunlap hit .538 (7-for-13) on the week while posting a slugging percentage of .769 on the strength of three doubles and recording an OBA of .588 thanks in part to two walks and being hit by a pitch. Dunlap scored three runs and knocked in five as the Seahawks went 3-1 on the week, including a series win over Big 12 member West Virginia. Against the Mountaineers, he had two hits in each game and doubled twice and knocked in three runs as UNCW rallied for a 13-10 win in the series finale. After opening the season 0-for-11 and suffering an ankle injury, Dunlap is hitting .410 over his last 12 games.

Pitcher-of-the-Week Nominee

Mat Batts, LHP, Senior, Winston-Salem, N.C./Mt. Tabor (Western Carolina)

- Batts didn’t figure in the decision as he went pitch-for-pitch with 2013 Big 12 Pitcher of the Year Harrison Musgrave in the series opener. Batt went eight innings, allowing one run on four hits and a pair of walks while striking out five. He’s allowed two or fewer runs in each of his last three starts, all games which UNCW would go on to win.
