Averaged 5.70 assists and 3.10 digs per set in leading UNCW to a 1-1 mark last week … Recorded a double-double in both matches … Notched 28 assists and added 16 digs against William & Mary … Helped the Seahawks set a rally-scoring era record with 114 digs versus the Tribe … Finished with 29 assists and 15 digs versus James Madison.
UNCW Notes (12-6; 1-3 CAA)
UNCW split a pair of Colonial Athletic Association road matches last weekend, falling to William & Mary, 3-2, on Friday before rallying for a 3-2 victory at James Madison on Sunday … The Seahawks had one of their best defensive weekends in recent memory, surpassing the 100-dig plateau in both of their matches, marking just the third and fourth team the team has accomplished that feat since the start of rally scoring in 2001 … The Seahawks set a rally-scoring record for digs as they finished with 114 bumps against the Tribe and tallied 101 digs in their victory against the Dukes … The Seahawks were also solid at the net, recording 2.70 blocks per frame during the road trip … Sophomore Meredith Peacock led the block party as she recorded 12 total blocks while senior Christi Laite added 11 … Laite also reached a personal milestone as she became just the sixth player in school history to record 1,000 kills in their career with 12 spikes against the Tribe … She also moved into sole possession of fifth place on the school’s career kills chart in the contest … The Seahawks continue to lead the CAA and rank among the top 25 teams in the country in both service aces (1.69/20th) and blocks (2.71/24th) per set …. Individually, Peacock remains ranked among the top 25 players in the nation in blocks per set (1.34) … UNCW plays its first home match in nearly a month as it hosts new league member the College of Charleston in 7 p.m. contest at Hanover Hall on Oct. 11.

League newcomer College of Charleston has had no trouble adjusting to life in the CAA as it is currently the only undefeated team in the league after the first two weekends of conference play … Senior Darcy Dorton leads a powerful Cougars attack that is first in the league in both kills per set (13.59) and hitting percentage (.257) with a 3.26 kills per set clip … Head Coach Jason Kepner also has the benefit of having three of the four most efficient hitters on the circuit as junior Cara Howley (.346) and senior Kerstin Koehler (.337) sit first and second while junior Sloane White (.305) ranks fourth … Defensively, junior Andi Zbojniewicz is ninth in the CAA in digs per set (3.03) … Despite being members of the same conference for the first time, the Seahawks and Cougars have an extensive history against each other with 19 previous meetings prior to Friday’s matchup … CofC holds a 13-6 edge in the series and has won five straight from UNCW, including 3-2 victory in their most recent matchup on Sept. 16, 2011 in Charleston.
