Five Seahawks Play For Tennis Titles

WILMINGTON, North Carolina - Five UNCW tennis players - three men and two women - will play for singles titles early Sunday when the UNCW-Landfall Invitational Tournament draws to a close at the Country Club of Landfall's Tennis Center.

Rafael Aita, ranked 55th in the ITA's preseason rankings, will battle for the A Flight crown at 8:30 p.m., while teammates Sam Williams and Kaue Pereira will vye for the B Flight hardware at 10 a.m. In addition, sophomore Zach Hublitz is scheduled to compete for the C Flight championship at 10 a.m.

On the women's side, sophomore Hamilton Lovett plays for the C Flight title at 8:30 a.m. and junior Angie Sekely challenges for the A Flight championship at 10 a.m.

In matches played on CCL's clay Saturday, Aita teamed up with sophomore Sam Williams to roll past Hublitz and Periera, 8-3, for the B Doubles championship.

Sekely, meanwhile, partnered with junior Olga Blank to capture the A Flight doubles finals, while Alyssa Ritchie and Christine Kharkevich fell in the B Flight finale.
