WILMINGTON, North Carolina - North Florida claimed the doubles point and won four singles matches to trim UNCW, 5-2, in women's tennis action Saturday at the UNCW Tennis Complex.

The Seahawks fell to 2-4 with the loss in the first of three consecutive home matches. The Ospreys evened their record at 1-1 this spring.

UNF picked up the early point with victories at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. The No. 2 doubles tandem of Alyssa Ritchie and Christina Lee knocked off UNF's Danielle Day and Melanie Aguirre, 8-5, for UNCW's lone win in doubles.

The Ospreys then secured singles wins at No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and No. 6 to take the match, with Ritchie and Christina Riley collecting wins for the Seahawks. Ritchie downed Aguirre, 7-5, 6-4, at the No. 4 position and Riley outlasted Rebeca Pereira, 6-3, 5-7, 6-4, at No. 5 singles.

The Seahawks return to the courts on Feb. 24 when East Tennessee State visits Wilmington for a 1:30 p.m. match.
