Release: 09/30/2007 UNCW Athletic Hall of Fame Guidelines PURPOSE Founded in 1998, the UNCW Athletic Hall of Fame is designed to recognize and honor former student-athletes, coaches, administrators and other individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the athletic program at The University of North Carolina at Wilmington. MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA Membership into the UNCW Athletic Hall of Fame shall be limited to those individuals who have brought positive recognition to the university, enhancing the reputation of the university as well as him/herself. General Criteria The Hall of Fame shall be open to individuals who have made outstanding contributions in one of the following areas:

NOMINATION PROCESS
SELECTION COMMITTEE The selection committee shall consist of representatives of the university and the community. At-large representatives on the selection committee will be appointed by the director of athletics. The athletic director or his/her designee will serve as chairman of the committee. Appointments are for one-year terms and may be renewed annually. SELECTION Voting will be by secret written ballot and announcement of the inductees will be made through the UNCW Athletic Communications Office. INDUCTION CEREMONY
