WILMINGTON, North Carolina - UNCW men's golf coach Matt Clark has announced the signings of Trey Guy (Fayetteville, N.C./Terry Sanford) and Thomas Lilly (Newton, N.C./Maiden) to play golf for the Seahawks in 2013-14.

"Thomas and Trey have the character, dedication, and ability to help us achieve our goals," said Clark. "We not only want to participate in the NCAA Finals, but intend to compete for the championship, and these two young men will be excellent additions to help us achieve these goals. They will be great ambassadors for UNCW and the men's golf team, on and off the links."

Guy is an accomplished golfer on the junior level. He recorded a third-place finish at the Carolina Juniors Championship (73-70-72=215) and a top-20 finish at the Dogwood State Championship (73-70-69=212). On the prep level, Guy earned All-Mid South Conference honors three times and made a pair of appearances in the 4A State tournament. In 2011, he finished sixth in the state tournament (77-69=146). Guy owns a 73 stroke average and a low round of 64.

Lilly is another accomplished golfer on the junior and prep scene. In 2011 and 2012, he claimed medalist honors at the Ken and Betty Isaac Invitational with scores of 69 and 67. He led Maiden High School to a pair of Catawba Valley Conference titles in 2010 and 2011 and was named conference player-of-the-year with the Blue Devils in 2010 and 2012. Lilly has earned First-Team All-Region and CVAC honors three times apiece. His career stroke average in high school is 73.6, in junior golf 74.75 and he has a low round of 67.
