BRADENTON, Florida - UNCW dropped a pair of matches by the identical score of 3-2 to fifth-ranked California and Liberty on Sunday at the Callaway Collegiate Match Play Championships at the Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla.

Against Cal, the Seahawks held an early 1-0 lead when Ryan Nagy won his match via forfeit. The Bears, though, rebounded with a pair of 2 & 1 wins by Max Homa and Keelan Kilpatrick over Thomas Bass and Patrick Sawrey, respectively, to close out the win.

In the Seahawks second match of the day, Liberty held a 4-1 lead early before the Seahawks were able to rebound behind wins from Payne McLeod (4&3) and Stefan Brewer (3&2).

McLeod led UNCW with a pair of wins, including a 4&3 decision over Cal's Michael Kim, who was ranked 55th nationally by Golf Week. In his second match, he topped Liberty's Ian McConnell.

The Callaway Match Play Championship continues on Monday with the Seahawks facing off against Kennesaw State.
