WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW junior Payne McLeod was named Colonial Athletic Association Co-Golfer-of-the-Week after winning his first collegiate tournament, Seahawk Intercollegiate, earlier this week.

For McLeod this is his four CAA Golfer-of-the-Week award, last earning the honor on Feb. 28. He shared the award with Hofstra’s Brandon Shin.

McLeod posted his 11th career top-10 finish with a two-round score of 72-71=143 to win the tournament by five shots. His under-par score in the second round was the lowest score on the day.

McLeod maintained his lead over former UNCW standout Josh Brock (72.99) for the program’s all-time scoring lead at 72.98.

The Seahawks also won their first tournament of the season and the seventh under the direction of Head Coach Matt Clark. UNCW edged 21st-ranked Kent State by a shot for the Seahawk Intercollegiate title.
