Senior Amanda Davenport and the Seahawks wrap up the regular season this weekend with a three-game series at Hofstra

WILMINGTON, North Carolina - The UNCW softball team closes out its regular season schedule this weekend as it travels to the Empire State for a three-game Colonial Athletic Association series against league-leading Hofstra.

The Seahawks and the Pride will open their series Friday with a Noon doubleheader before closing out the series Saturday with an 11 a.m. contest. Live stats and streaming audio will be available for all three games and can be accessed by clicking on the respective links at the top of the page.

UNCW (9-42; 4-14 CAA) takes to the road for the final time this season after wrapping up the home portion of its 2012 schedule by taking one of three games from visiting Delaware in league play at Boseman Field last weekend.

Junior Lauryn Buckworth enters the final series of the season leading the Seahawks with a .290 batting average and 36 hits. Senior Kelsey Eddinger paces the squad with 12 RBI as she is one of six players to have recorded double-figure RBI this season for head coach Kelly Van Houten's program.

Senior Amanda Davenport leads the team with a 3.08 ERA in 35 appearances in the circle this season. Freshman left-hander Casey Rowland has recorded 129 strikeouts during her rookie campaign and begins the weekend needing just eight strikeouts to match Keri Malcomson for third place on the program's single-season strikeouts chart (137).

Winners of 30 of its last 32 contests, Hoftra (32-13; 16-0 CAA) looks to complete its first undefeated conference regular season in 15 seasons after taking three games at Towson last weekend.

Junior Rachel Senatore paces a potent Pride attack as she leads the team with a .369 batting average and 58 hits. Junior Tessa Ziemba has driven in a league-best 41 runs this season on the strength of a league-high 11 home runs and nine doubles  

Junior hurler Olivia Galati has been dominant all season for coach Bill Edwards squad as she enters the weekend on a school-record 23-game winning streak. Galati leads the CAA with a 1.03 ERA and 271 strikeouts in 197 2/3 innings pitched and is 14-0 in CAA play this season with a 0.74 ERA.
